The time was well spent building this 1/24 scale Shiden Kai.
It’s a fantastic subject with its distinctive lines, rich surface paneling, and a powerful historical narrative from the closing chapter of the Pacific War.

For this build, I applied my unique surface rendering method—what I call the “Inca” technique—in the early stages of painting. This approach lays down a regular, panel-based texture, carefully aligned with the surface layout, to set the tone for material tension and visual structure.

In the final stages, I used hand-painting with acrylics to enhance the uneven, stressed-metal effect—mimicking the warping and bumpy surface that might appear after dramatic flight maneuvers. It’s not just about paint—it’s about telling the story through texture.
